AUSTIN PENDLETON is an actor, director, playwright and teacher, the teaching being on Zoom for HB Studio. He was born in Warren, Ohio, where his mother -- who began as a well-regarded professional actress -- became part of a community theater group that began after the war under the name of TNT. The early rehearsals of TNT were held, at night, in the living room of our house and before the rehearsals my brother Alec and myself would set up the furniture needed for the scenes. Then we would watch the rehearsals and from these we learned many valuable things about how to stage a show. Austin later moved to NYC and appeared in many shows, most notably "Fiddler on the Roof," in which Zero Mostel confronted him nightly with wild improvisations.
